MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Craft beer, local food and live entertainment took center stage in Marysville on Saturday, Sept. 19, with two beer-centered events keeping festivities going from midday into the evening.

The 13th annual Yuba-Sutter Brewfest returned to Bryant Field, offering tastings from more than 25 breweries along with food from local restaurants and music from DJ Ernie. Organized by the Sutter Buttes Social Club, Brewfest serves as the nonprofit organization's primary fundraiser. The group raises money to support children in Yuba and Sutter counties through programs including its annual back-to-school shopping spree.

This year's food lineup had a strong downtown Yuba City presence. City Café, Sopa Thai Cuisine, Plumas Street Pub & Grill and Celestino's New York Pizza, all located along Plumas Street, were among the participating restaurants. Nearby Lambert House Cafe also took part, along with Slough House Social.

Among the day's biggest honors went to Sutter Buttes Brewing, which announced following the event that its Märzen Festbier earned Best in Show in the Brewfest competition. The local brewery was among 16 beer and beverage producers featured on Brewfest's 2026 attending breweries lineup.

The Marysville Police Officers Association also partnered with Movement Brewery for a "Hops & Cops" activity during Brewfest. For $5, participants received a raffle ticket and could use a preliminary alcohol screening device to try to guess their blood alcohol concentration, giving officers an opportunity to talk with attendees about alcohol impairment and the equipment used in the field.

As Brewfest began winding down, the celebration shifted just a few blocks away. Yuba Sutter Boots, Buckles & Brews kicked off at 4 p.m. on D Street in downtown Marysville and continued until 9 p.m. The event, presented by Vital Entertainment Group, combined country music and electronic dance music with line dancing, food and drinks. The downtown festival was large enough to prompt street closures and temporary changes to Yuba-Sutter Transit service around Second and D streets and Second and F streets. Yuba-Sutter Transit described the event as a returning downtown festival.

Together, the two events provided nearly a full day of food, drinks and entertainment in Marysville while also showcasing businesses and breweries from throughout the wider Yuba-Sutter area.
