COLUSA COUNTY, CA (MPG) - On April 21, 2022 at about 7:00 AM, the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant and arrested 5 suspects in connection with a large-scale, illegal indoor marijuana grow operation.

The operation was taking place inside an old rice mill located on the 200 block of E. Main Street, Colusa, CA"'just outside of the city limits. The illegal operation had been taking place for several months.

The large-scale, illegal indoor marijuana grow operation has been connected to other operations in the San Joaquin County area. The San Joaquin County Task Force assisted in the investigation when they discovered a connection to the Colusa County location.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of 4,832 mature plants and the arrest of 5 suspects. The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office Specialized Operations and Response (SOAR) Team assisted in the service of the search warrant.

The suspects arrested during the service of the search warrant were booked into the Colusa County Jail and currently face charges for violations of Health & Safety Code; 11358 - Illegal cultivation of marijuana and Penal Code; 182 – Conspiracy to commit a crime.

The 5 suspects arrested were as follows:

Bo Sen Tan, age 45, from San Leandro, CA; Hong Pin Zhen, age 52, no address listes; Guo Ming Zhang, age 56, no address listed; Xin Shi Yu, age 45, no address listed. Zhui Gou Hiu, age 43, from Brooklyn, NY.
