Yuba City Manager Names New Police Chief

YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - City Manager Dave Vaughn announced Yuba City Police Commander, Brian Baker, will become the City of Yuba City’s 15th Police Chief. Baker has served his entire 27-year law enforcement career with the Yuba City Police Department.

The announcement follows a nationwide search and comprehensive selection process that returned 40 applicants. The pool was narrowed to five top candidates, who then participated in three separate panel interviews by local community members, a regional peer group, and Yuba City’s executive team. The top finalists underwent additional interviews and behavioral assessments with Vaughn.

Retiring Yuba City Police Chief, Rob Landon, will serve his final day September 29, 2021, Baker will begin September 30.
