Children and Families Commission Announces Funding Availability
Aug 27, 2020 12:00AM ● By First 5 Yuba County Press ReleaseMARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - First 5 Yuba County Children and Families Commission has funding available for community mini-grants. The Commission has allotted a maximum of $40,000.00 for childcare providers, individuals, private organizations, non-profit agencies, or public agencies in need of additional funding to work with or improve the lives of expectant mothers, babies, toddlers or preschool-aged children living in Yuba County are encouraged to contact the Commission to apply.
What happens from prenatal through age five has a substantial influence on how a child will function in school and later in life. A clear goal for First 5 Yuba is for children in Yuba County to be socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually ready for school. To help First 5 meet this goal community members and organizations could be awarded up to $4,000.
The grants will be for short-term community-based projects that must be completed by May 31, 2021. All projects must align with First 5 Yuba’s strategic plan goals. In addition, all recipients must submit a final evaluation report when the project is completed.
To apply, interested parties must attend a mandatory online pre-application orientation and submit a completed application.
The live pre-application orientation meetings are scheduled for: September 3, 2020 at 1:30 P.M.; September 3, 2020 at 6:00 P.M.

Please allow for 1-2 hours to attend or view the webinar, depending on number of participants and questions. Interested parties may attend either meeting but the evening meeting will focus on the specific needs of childcare providers. Agencies not in good standing with the Commission are considered ineligible.
