MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - First 5 Yuba County Children and Families Commission has funding available for community mini-grants.  The Commission has allotted a maximum of $40,000.00 for childcare providers, individuals, private organizations, non-profit agencies, or public agencies in need of additional funding to work with or improve the lives of expectant mothers, babies, toddlers or preschool-aged children living in Yuba County are encouraged to contact the Commission to apply.

What happens from prenatal through age five has a substantial influence on how a child will function in school and later in life.  A clear goal for First 5 Yuba is for children in Yuba County to be socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually ready for school.  To help First 5 meet this goal community members and organizations could be awarded up to $4,000.

The grants will be for short-term community-based projects that must be completed by May 31, 2021.  All projects must align with First 5 Yuba’s strategic plan goals.  In addition, all recipients must submit a final evaluation report when the project is completed.
